Gone To Seed: September 8-17

There is nothing like a stage production to truly immerse yourself in great entertainment and Remarkable Theatre know how to put on a good show. The company promotes performing arts and encourages the development of acting and performance skills within the local community.

We are very excited to be involved with the production again this year as major sponsor, and we are thrilled to get a sneak peak into preparations. As you can see from the photos, this is a local cast with character! We are especially excited to see our friend Athole, who featured in our 2021 TV advert.

Gone to Seed is a true-blue Kiwi story of friendship, loss, community and growth, The familiar and hilarious characters discover being a member of an ageing gardening club is more risqué than it sounds. The audience will get a kick out of seeing how the club members interact and fundraise in this ‘not your average garden variety comedy’.

Have you got your tickets yet?

Tickets are on sale now from EventFinda.

9 Hole Golf Tournament: September 27

Welcome in the spring with a 9 hole round of golf and a chance to win great prizes and raffles. The Arrowtown Golf Club is hosting the Women’s Arrowtown Lifestyle Village 9 Hole Tournament again this year on the 27th September.

This is always a super fun event, in a stunning setting, with gorgeous company. The prize and raffle table groans under the weight of all the wonderfulness.

We so enjoy supporting the 9 hole golfers during the year, and love popping in to have a catch up after the round on sponsors day each month. It’s always very entertaining to hear the stories of what went right (and sometimes wrong) on the round, and congratulate the days winners.

Blue Ribbon Brunch: October 2

“Who has not been touched by cancer in some way?” says Kathryn Buchannan, village resident.

“A Pink Ribbon breakfast had been on my to do list for a long time, and when I suggested it last year as a fundraising event at the village, it was met with great enthusiasm. Our plan for a modest brunch expanded to a wonderful event for family and friends, with raffles and stalls. We were overwhelmed by the response and were able to donate over $1,000 to Breast Cancer Research.”

“This year we have promised one for the boys – supporting the Prostrate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand. We have a large group of volunteers organizing what will be a great event. We hope you can join us!”

Ticket holders for the ‘blue do’ will be treated to a tasty brunch menu accompanied by live background music. Adding to the fun will be a plant and craft stall and some amazing items donated by local businesses, auctioned by our resident, Gary Mullings.

Entry is $20 per person. Tickets are available from reception at the Residents’ Lodge – phone 03 442 1050.
